California Assembly Bill 1223 will require that, within 10 days of making a construction contract payment, a state or local agency must post to its website the names of each construction contractor paid and the date and amount of the payment. Subcontractors can then know with certainty when they should expect their money, as existing law requires they be paid within five days.
