ABOUT US

ABOUT THE ASA SAN DIEGO CHAPTER

Construction subcontracting is a challenging industry to be in. While successfully going it alone is certainly possible, business-savvy subcontractors choose to join forces to protect their unique interests and strengthen their position. Strength, as the saying goes, is in numbers.

San Diego ASA is the association of choice for subcontractors and specialty trade contractors, as well as for suppliers to the construction industry. We are their unified voice before state and local elected officials and the myriad public agencies that purchase construction services. We broaden their sphere of influence with industry partners such as general contractors, architects, and owners. We support their need to continually hone their technical expertise via educational and training workshops in subjects ranging from work in progress, mechanics liens, and indemnity to safety, negotiating change orders, and prevailing wage. We serve as a community and construction-industry resource, donating goods and services to a variety of worthwhile causes.

San Diego ASA helps its members grow their businesses by providing a diverse array of networking opportunities. Our General Contractor & Public Agency Showcase, Fall Golf Classic, Industry Partners Quarterly Meetings, Sporting Clay Competition, and Annual Holiday Mixer are instant sell-out hits. We also promote our individual member businesses on this website, in our quarterly newsletter, “Just Briefly,” on our social media pages, and in industry publications such as “Contractor News & Views.”

The remarkable strength of this association comes from its dedicated members who volunteer their time and expertise on nine standing committees, as well as the members who serve on the board of directors. We’re supported by a knowledgeable, skilled staff of professionals and consultants who work in the trenches every day.

“ASA ultimately helps us stay connected and deepens our relationships with our diverse, highly skilled and sought-after subcontractor partners.”
